Which is worth the buy? Shark apex uplight vacuum against bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus

It is in every consumers' nature that they need to have the best. In order to find out which one is more suitable for us, we tend to make lots of comparisons. Last week, I had attempted two of the most recommended vacuums, which also have similar features to the test (shark apex uplight vacuum and bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus). In this Shark apex uplight review, I will point out details of each vacuum in terms of 4 aspects.

1. Design

The overall design quality of the shark apex uplight is satisfactory. Except for the metal wand, other parts are mostly made of plastic. Moreover, I'm quite impressed with the light on the vacuum head since it functions as a notice of the vacuum's status and a warning sign when the vacuum is too hot or experiences some blockages. The vacuum is fairly quick and convenient to put together, considering how the parts fit easily, and switching between configurations is simple. The only downside that I can find is that the dirt compartment is made of transparent plastics that seem a little too vulnerable to handle impacts.

Meanwhile, the design quality of the bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus is just fairly passable. Like the shark apex uplight, the wand is the only metal part, though it could have been more well-built. I enjoy the single-hand stick grip along with the suction control on the handle. A feature that I see as a plus of this machine is the led light that lights up when reaching for tricky and dark areas. What I don't appreciate is the complication in removing the brush rolls and reassembling the dirt compartment.

2. Usability

I can only praise the Shark apex uplight lift-away duoclean when it comes to cleaning on bare floors. The performance is excellent! Hardwood, tile, or even laminate, the shark apex uplight can easily wipe out all pet hair and debris, regardless of size, from these surfaces. It picks debris of any type with such ease, and the soft brush roll aids in crushing large debris such as cereal, making the task much effortless for the vacuum.

Generally, the bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus works pretty well too. It's okay for bare floors, but it still is a bit lacking compared to the shark uplight. However, I think it operates better on surfaces that have carpets. What bothers me is that this vacuum has a harder time picking up large debris because it often gets stuck in the vacuum's front cover and the tunnel's end.

3. Maintenance process

Overall, the process of maintaining the shark apex vacuum cleaner is not very demanding. I like that the dirt compartment comes off easily with just a push of a button. What truly takes up more work would be the three brush rolls. The soft brush roll is rather easy to wash since it is removable. On the other hand, the main brushroll and the turbo brush brushroll can not be removed, and that causes the cleaning a little bit troublesome. Fortunately, most important filters such as the pre-motor and HEPA are simple to work with.

For the bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus, I cannot say the same, though. The process is quite tiresome, to be honest. The amount of time you have to spend removing different parts of the vacuum is quite a deal-breaker. For example, to access the brushroll or the brushroll belt, we must use a screwdriver to remove around ten screws. In addition, I am not fond of the idea that the HEPA filter in this machine cannot be washed.

4. Recurring costs

The best thing about Shark apex uplight is that there are almost no ongoing expenses to pay. As long as you can preserve the pre-motor and HEPA filters in good condition, you would probably have to replace them every few years.

As for the bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus, though there are not many parts to replace, the users of this vacuum will have to do it quite often, especially with the filters. Both the pre-motor and HEPA filters need to be checked once in three to six months.

I feel that both vacuums offer a lot to the table. However, if I have to choose, I will likely go with the shark apex duoclean vacuum. All in all, I hope that this review can shed some light for you guys if you're wondering whether to choose between the shark uplight vacuum or the bissell pet hair eraser turbo plus.
