Hi Guys !

I had a question regarding AC 220V Heater Temperature PID and TRIAC control project. I see in the schematic that a 200 ohm resistor is used before the MOC3020's pin 6. I suppose ELECTRONOOBS use this to limit the current. My question is: Why is that resistor so small? Why do you let 1A to the gate of BTA16? According to the documentation 50mA will be sufficient for the gate of BTA16.

Thanks for your help in advance!
