Hello,
I have made 12 to 220V 500W SMPS inverter with SG3525 IC and I have little trouble with it. When nothing is connected it draws around 1A, and when I connect 75W light bulb it draws 18.7 from 3s li-po battery which voltage is 11.2V. Which is around 210W, almost 3 times the power of the light bulb. At the output of the ransformer the voltage is rectified with full-bridge rectifier build from ultra fast diodes and it's filtered with 330uF capacitor and the voltage at the output is 310V without load and 300V with load. Can anyone tell me why it draws so much power?

There could be a few reasons why your SMPS inverter is drawing more power than expected. Here are a few factors to consider:

Inefficiencies: Power inverters typically have some level of inefficiency due to losses in the conversion process. These losses can occur in the form of heat dissipation or energy wasted during the conversion. It's common for inverters to draw more power than the actual load requires due to these inefficiencies.

Transformer losses: Transformers used in power inverters can have losses associated with them. These losses can be due to core losses, copper losses, or other factors. If your transformer is not highly efficient, it can contribute to the increased power draw.

An ESC can be used to convert a regular DC motor to a brushless motor, but first you need to select a brushless motor set only up

Inverters, especially those built with low-cost components, may have lower efficiency. This means that a significant amount of power is lost as heat during the conversion process.
