Need help in designing xenon power supply on: December 06, 2021, 11:37:23 AM
Hi, I am designing the xenon power project in this power supply there is a need of high voltage pulse which is around 30kV to ignite the lamp so for that I will need two auto transformers to achieve that much of voltage to ignite the xenon lamp and the problem is coming that I have contacted several manufacturers to make the custom design transformer according to the requirements but nobody is ready to  design the transformer in these rating because involvements of very high voltage saying that it is going beyond our capabilities therefore I would request everyone to please help me in this project thank you.

Using a capacitor discharge ignition (suika game) circuit, which is a type of electronic ignition system that uses a capacitor to store and release a high voltage pulse to the xenon lamp. A CDI circuit can be simpler, cheaper, and more efficient than an autotransformer circuit, but it might also have some drawbacks, such as limited energy storage, high peak current, and complex control.

The xenon power supply is used to control the current and it supplies power to the xenon arc lamp. It avoids turn-off lamps due to current pass and saves to it from shortcuts.

The xenon power project requires a high voltage pulse of approximately 30kV to ignite the lamp. To achieve this, two auto transformers are needed. However, I’ve faced challenges as manufacturers are unwilling to create custom transformers for such high voltage ratings. I’m seeking assistance to move forward with the project. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Additionally, engaging with projects like Monkey Mart can provide invaluable insights and support.

Sure! For designing a xenon power supply, first determine the required voltage and current specifications. Use high-quality components to ensure stability and reliability. Incorporate proper heat dissipation methods, and consider integrating a block blast circuit for enhanced performance. Testing the design with a prototype is also essential to meet safety and functionality standards.
